Longman Dictionary QuickTime 7 Vista problem
Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English 2005 Updated Edition doesn't work with QuickTime 7. However there is a Longman's patch that should solve the problem, but not in case of Windows Vista...
How did I overcome the issue? I've installed QuickTime 6 from Longman's CD and used cracked ldoce4.exe. If you need QuickTime 7 - follow the instructions below.
- Uninstall QuickTime 6.
- Intall QuickTime 7.X.
- Extract contents of this archive to installation folder, overwrite any files.
- Copy all files from QuickTime 7's plugins folder to Longman's plugins folder with overwrite.
- Apply Longman's patch.
- Run program with administrative privileges and enjoy!
After those manipulations I have sound with Vista and QuickTime 7!

I like Longman dictionary, but it is not comfortable to take its CD to start application. Do you have any patch or crack which allows to launch dictionary without CD?
Item 3 contains link to an archive with cracked exe.

I use QuickAlternative in order to be away from QuickTime and it's unnecessary programs. I just installed the patch released by Longman and the problem is solved.

1. I cannot access to spoken example sentences and it always prompts me to insert LDOCE 2005 CD 2 in the CD drive.
